Traditional acupuncture is a healing art which
has been used for thousands of years to create and maintain
health. By understanding and treating the cause of any condition,
rather than just the symptoms, acupuncture can give long-lasting
relief and a profound feeling of health and vitality.
Essentially, acupuncture is worth considering
if you are in pain, have a diagnosed medical condition, are
suffering with emotional problems or just feel that your mind
and body is not working as well as it could. Please book an
appointment to discuss your specific needs - Emma offer a
free 15-minute consultation
for this purpose.
Conditions which have been shown to respond
to acupuncture include:
- Allergies, hay fever, asthma
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Constipation, diarrhoea & IBS

As a Five Element acupuncturist, Emma will identify
the cause of any problem and then provide treatment to remove
that cause and support any inherent weakness. The style involves
a very gentle needling technique and lots of patient-practitioner
interaction so you'll know exactly what Emma is doing throughout
your session.
At your initial session, Emma will find out more
about the problem itself, your medical and family history,
lifestyle and how your body operates on a daily basis. This
helps with diagnosis and highlights any other areas which
may need help.
Traditional acupuncture uses very fine (about
the width of a hair) stainless steel needles which produce
a slight sensation but are painless. Moxa is a therapeutic
herb which is warmed over specific points to provide a soothing
heat. Emma may also use cupping therapy which uses mild suction
to relax muscle tension. Because traditional acupuncture is
about treating you as a whole, Emma may provide lifestyle and
dietary advice in order to increase the speed of recovery.
