Homeopathy is a highly successful and natural form of medicine which investigates all aspects of health; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. It is a system of healing which assists the body to heal itself. It recognises that all the symptoms are expressions of disharmony within the whole person and that it is the patient who needs treatment and not the disease. It is safe, gentle and suitable for everyone, young and old.
In 1796, a German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann discovered Homeopathy. The word 'Homeopathy' comes from the Greek meaning 'similar suffering'. It is based on the idea that like cures like. That means that the way in which we become ill and all the symptoms we feel are matched by those that the remedy would cause if it were repeatedly given to a healthy person. In a tiny, but powerful dose, that remedy can then work with our vitality to exactly stimulate those aspects which have been affected. Because the system is precise, there are no side effects.

In order to find the right remedy for you as an individual, the homoeopath will need to know all about you. A detailed understanding of who you are, along with any complaints and details of how you experience them is needed to assess your case correctly. So anything you can tell your homoeopath that is typical of who you are will help the process. Finding out about your general energy level, your past medical history and the way you live are also important. Anything you say will be treated in the strictest confidence. The initial consultation may last an hour or more.
